Blue exterior and bordeaux/cream interior for me, especially in a Quattroporte. How about you?
![]() 09/17/2014 at 16:47 |

Nogaro blue, on blue for the S4. (Too lazy to find an exterior picture)
And a little spaceball Volvo, orange blue manual wagon. (Too lazy to find an interior photo)

Red on black. An all black 57 Chevy with red bench seats is one of the very few Chevrolets I'd let in my garage.

Anything with a tan/brown leather interior. Or a 2-tone light/dark interior.

Tan over BRG

White with Tan leather. It is HATED in the mustang community and everyone wants black interior but I love the tan. But I think its because I have driven a Cobra in that color combo for 16 years.

black on black on black. Or black with oxblood interior.
![]() 09/17/2014 at 16:52 |

hate to be that guy but for me it's always black on black (or a dark grey or dark blue with black interior)

For a real-ish answer: I'm partial to this ;)
![]() 09/17/2014 at 16:58 |

black with black, and then black, with more black, just everything black

Yellow paint over black leather. That contrast is sooooo good!
![]() 09/17/2014 at 17:03 |

Now I'm curious, I've never seen that combination IRL. Gimme some examples!

Bling / Bling for me.

Even the dreaded Passat brown?
![]() 09/17/2014 at 17:14 |

I'd say that is one of the best.

Oxblood looks gooood

so smart, very shine, wow
![]() 09/17/2014 at 17:15 |

It really depends on the car. Even sub-variants. For example, on a C4 Corvette I prefer white over red if it's 1984 to 1990, red over red if it's a 1990 ZR-1, and blue over grey if it's anything else.
Though I will say that steel blue over indigo interior was also friggin' amazing to see.
But in general? I can't really say. The new Dart looked best in neon yellow over grey with neon accents. The Challenger looks best in Header Orange over black. The XLR is unbeatable in Black Diamond Tricoat over black. C7...white over red.

and that wood shift knob *drools*
![]() 09/17/2014 at 17:18 |
|
But do you think that there is a single color combo that matches almost all cars?
![]() 09/17/2014 at 17:18 |
|
Dark grey with a burgundy/oxblood interior. Pretty much anything with a dark red interior. I saw a nice S-class at the junkyard the other day that was gold with oxblood and I was in love. Except for the whole rusty/crashed part...
If I can't have red, give me a nice beige. My 525i was the same color as this Ferrari but with a beige interior and I found it to be much nicer than my friend's 525i with grey interior
. No black interior or exterior. Inside it feels like a cave, outside it's a maintenance nightmare. I speak from experience here. I was a bit bummed when I went on the configurator for the 2015 Mustang and found very few interior choice, and no choice if I wanted the Recaro option - black only.
Green with a red interior is also a good choice. Brings back good memories of the '60s Matchbox Mercury Cougar I once had.

Not my first choice, but at least its not grey/black.

Thanks for the compliment! What's funny is I put this voodoo knob on (I though it was supposed to be weighted better; it is about the same lol):

Indeed, expired chocolate passat brown > boringness.

YES!

That handbrake is wood too isn't it?
![]() 09/17/2014 at 17:24 |
|
yes it is and I love it!
![]() 09/17/2014 at 17:25 |

I love color matching combos blue/blue, turquoise/turquoise etc. love black cars with red interior.
The only interior color I absolutely despise is tan, can't stand it.
![]() 09/17/2014 at 17:27 |
|
IMO, the color combo looks better on a Gallardo. That's saying a lot given the Quattroporte is one of my favorite cars.
![]() 09/17/2014 at 17:27 |

And from your profile pic I'm guessing Nardi right?

What do you thinks suits the quattro best?

Beige tan or this tan?
![]() 09/17/2014 at 17:31 |

That's Marina Green Mica on that M!
This is BRG and I think it was only produced in '91 I believe (not my car or picture):
![]() 09/17/2014 at 17:31 |

If not your blue/cream combo, Bordeaux over light tan or cream
![]() 09/17/2014 at 17:32 |
|
I like most cars that combine cold colors and red interior as well. The Maserati configurator was awesome because of the incredible color combos on it, like green/red red/blue.
![]() 09/17/2014 at 17:35 |
|
You are correct! The hand brake and the shift knob came stock on a few of the miatas.
![]() 09/17/2014 at 17:35 |
|
Put some blue leather on that and I'm set haha.
![]() 09/17/2014 at 17:37 |
|
Were they stock on yours?
![]() 09/17/2014 at 17:40 |
|
Yeah. '96 M-edition. I know they came on a few other M's and maybe with the black and tan package on non M miatas.

You are now one of my favorite people on Oppo.

any color tan/brown I have never liked it.
![]() 09/17/2014 at 17:59 |

Black on black? I mean, it's about as boring and uninspired as can be but it does work.
![]() 09/17/2014 at 18:16 |

Tan and British Racing Green is so my jam. I do quite like my car's light blue/blue with random leaves, though:

I had a Rabbit GTI, black with red. Loved the interior, hated maintaining the exterior.
Bentley's configurator is also quite good, with a full spectrum of interior and exterior colors. Money doesn't always equate to taste, so they'll let you spec your car any way you want as long as you're willing to pay for it.
On a related note, that DB9 in my original post is the car owned by comedian/podcaster Adam Carolla. He specified these colors and the dealer tried to talk him out of it because they thought that they wouldn't be able to sell the car if he decided not to take delivery. But when the car came in and was displayed on the showroom floor, the reaction was just the opposite - everyone loved it.
We need to stand up and demand something other than the usual silver/white/black paint with grey/black/beige interiors and demand something with a bit more style. The plaid interior on the GTI is a step in the right direction, but we need more red, green and blue interiors, of course with a contrasting exterior color.

Black over brown leather.
So classy it hurts. Even in a $23k Saturn.
![]() 09/17/2014 at 21:48 |

All that fake wood. It does look classy though.
![]() 09/17/2014 at 21:51 |

I've seen worse looking fake wood in much more expensive cars, so it's got that going for it.

It looks much better than the one we got here (Vectra)

Brown on brown, like a true Jalop.
